Today's trailer is for Kim and Jeff! Their August wedding at the Derryfield Country Club was full of love and energy. There were many sentimental moments, especially the vows that included the couple's children. Jeff's grandmother had recently passed, and as a way to honor her memory, Jeff's dad pinned her favorite frog pin to Jeff's lapel prior to the ceremony. It was such a touching moment, and a beautiful memory to have on film.

It's always great to see different and unique, and Kim and Jeff did many things that fit that category. Kim, who has a reputation for "icing" people, surprised her groom during the garter removal, with a Smirnoff Ice that was hidden under her garter. She also performed the thriller dance with some friends during the reception.

It was an absolute pleasure covering this wedding for Jamie and Matthew! I don't think I have ever seen a Bride so excited about her special day. Their outdoor ceremony and lavish reception were celebrated at the beautiful Searles Castle in Windham NH. A brief summer shower dampened the day but not the excitement and festive atmosphere. Jamie had a smile on her face from the moment she arrived until the moment she danced her last dance surrounded by family and friends. Their were so many special moments that it was difficult to narrow them down for this short Trailer. It's couples like Jamie and Matt and getting the opportunity to meet so many amazing people that remind me of why I absolutely love what I do! This Wedding Film Trailer was created for Meredith St.Saviour & Chris Lambert. They were a total pleasure to work with from the initial consultation right through their amazing wedding day! Chris is the weekend Meteorologist for Channel 7 here in Boston so he may have pulled a few strings to ensure that bad weather wasn't going to play a part in their outdoor ceremony at the Atkinson Resort & Country Club. DJ Brandon Lloyd mixed the music as Meredith and Chris danced the night away with family and friends. A great time was had by all!

Today's Wedding Trailer was created for a very special couple. Julie and Rory celebrated their wedding day with a scenic ocean side ceremony at Rye Harbor State Park followed by a reception at the beautiful Ashworth by the Sea. Rory left to serve this great nation the day after his wedding. We created this Trailer to remind him that no matter where he is called to serve, that he is never far from home. Thank you to all who sacrifice so much for our freedoms.

Here are the answers to some of the most popular Wedding Film Questions.

What are some of the most popular options that a couple should consider for their Wedding Film?

The Wedding Trailer provides a sneak peak into the finished wedding film. It creatively tells the wedding day story in a three to four minute summary of the days events. The Trailer employs creative editing techniques and utilizes background music as well as live audio to provide a sense of what is to come in the finished film. The Trailer is a very popular option because it is delivered in an online format just weeks after the wedding day and is easily shared on social media sites allowing family and friends to share in this special presentation. 


The Highlight Film is very different from the traditional wedding video which tells the story in chronological order. The Highlight film makes use of a technique called time shifting. Time shifting utilizes the emotions of the day to creatively move you through the film. One moment you're laughing at the Best Mans toast or a crazy relative doing the "Dougie", the next your reaching for a tissue as you're swept up in the emotion of the vows/rings and parent dances. The finished Highlight film can range from 20 to 30 minutes in length but includes the most important moments from the entire day. The appeal of the Highlight Film is that It allows a couple to re-experience every moment of their wedding day without reaching for the remote. 


How many cameras do I need to film my wedding?
I highly recommend at least two cameras to properly capture all the special moments of the wedding day. With two cameras everything that the couple is missing can be captured for them. Things like the Cocktail hour or how elegant the room looks before the guests arrive. These are just a few things that most couples never get a chance to experience because they are actively engaged in their formal photography session. The second camera is also great for capturing the reactions of family and friends during those highly anticipated moments like the Grooms reaction as his beautiful Bride walks down the aisle or Mom's reaction during the father daughter dance. Two camera Wedding Films are generally more expensive but after seeing the finished film, most couples agree that the investment was money well spent. 

How do wedding Cinematographers account for various lighting conditions?
Lighting has become very important especially with the popularity of uplighting at the receptions. Although uplighting visually enhances the look of the room, it creates some interesting challenges for your Cinematographers. Lets assume you choose to enhance your room with blue uplighting. Generally, everything in the room would have blue accents
including your faces during your first dance or any other highlight including the cake cutting or toasts. There are a few ways to overcome this effect. One way is to use on camera lighting to counter act the hugh of blue on the subject. However, on camera lighting can create harsh looking video and be hard on the eyes. The more efficient way to overcome this problem would be to use off camera lighting. Using remote controlled, battery powered, LED off camera lighting, avoids the harsh in your face lighting approach of on camera lighting. Off camera lighting is more efficient and uniform and in most cases, is only used to capture the Highlights of your special day.    



When selecting a wedding Cinematographer, what should a couple take into consideration?
There are many factors that a couple should consider before selecting their wedding cinematographer. Personality, artistic shooting style and creative editing are just a few of the most important factors. Since wedding film artistry and creativity are very subjective, it is important to evaluate the work of any company that you are considering to make certain that their approach conforms to your artistic flare and creative style. It is also important that the coverage approach is customized to suit your personality traits. You don't want a Cinematographer to provide a very interactive style of coverage if you have a non-interactive personality and vise versa. Customizing the style of coverage to suit each couples personalities is an important part of the over all wedding film experience.

Kristie & Conor's Wedding Trailer

Kristie & Conor were seriously so much fun to work with. They had the best time at their wedding.  The rain made for some amazing photo and film opportunities that were so unique. One of my favorite shots in the film is Kristie, arriving to the church in her rain boots. How awesome is that?! There were so many things about this day that stand out to me, but Conor's rendition of "Mr. Jones" and Mr. Healey & friends' performance of Bohemian Rhapsody...both priceless, were two of my favorites. Both perfect examples of why a wedding film is SO important, and why I totally love my job. How could I forget to mention Conor's tie dilemma... I'll let him tell you the story. :-) Congrats Kristie and Conor, and thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day!

Amanda & Alex Grandprey were married on May 26th 2012 at the scenic Steel Hill Inn in Sanbornton, NH. It's always a privilege to be selected to capture these special moments but even more so when we we get a chance to create a film for the members of our Military. Kristin & Mike's Wedding Day Trailer

Our latest Wedding Film Trailer was created for Kristin Bomal & Mike Bourque. An April 2012 wedding celebration was held at The Harris Pelham Inn. It was a pleasure working with Cindy & Zac from Dan Doke Photography. Flowers were provided by Salvy The Florist and the Cup Cake Centerpieces were provided by Eat Cake. Jon Mansfield provided the music for the ceremony and reception.
